Overview

The Project Management Office (PMO) team at Oxford Policy Management is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager on a fixed term basis for 12 months. 

 

The position will be located in Indonesia.

Position Summary

OPM is a global organisation whose mission is to work for a fairer world.  Fundamental to this is delivering successful projects, meeting our end clients’ needs and our own internal commitments. OPM is keen to further develop the ‘fit-for-purpose’ Project Management capability needed to deliver consistently successful projects regardless of size or complexity.

 

The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for supporting and/or managing all aspects of the project across the lifecycle, leading delivery and closedown. The Assistant Project Manager must ensure that projects are delivered to contract and budget, whilst meeting OPM’s professional standards/frameworks, client requirements, relevant industry regulations and ensuring effective governance.

 

 

Key Primary Responsibilities

 

Leadership, Teamwork, Stakeholder and Communications Management 

  • Share knowledge, ensure project standards are followed and embed project rigour whilst supporting the importance of project delivery to OPM’s strategy and vision
  • Building effective relations to deliver successful projects
  • Work with stakeholders to deliver the project
  • Manage communication activities on the project
  • Work with the project team to deliver the project
  • Provide coaching and development to the PA community

Requirements Management, Solutions Development, Quality Management

  • Assess and document stakeholders wants and needs to arrive at an agreed schedule of requirements
  • Implement and apply quality management processes for project activities and outputs, including compliance with OPM’s Project Management and Project Controls Frameworks
  • Schedule Management, Budgeting and Cost Control, Resource Management, Change Control
  • Develop project plans to meet project and client objectives and detail activities required to deliver the project
  • Coordinate activities and stakeholders as needed for project completion
  • Update and maintain project control documents and plans, utilising the change control process
  • Monitor the project resources and supply chain
  • Monitor project spend and utilisation rates
  • Provide forecasts and assess deviations
  • Manage the contracting process for the provision of goods and/or services 

 

Governance, Reviews, Risk and Issue Management

  • Ensure and provide accurate project data for corporate governance and assurance reviews
  • Arrange project gates / boards and reviews at appropriate times in the project lifecycle
  • Manage risks associated with the project escalating in line with OPM Project Risk Management process.
  • Ensure OPM policies and procedures are being followed
  • Ensure that all appropriate systems are kept up to date
  • Establish and maintain project information data (file structures, document control, project pages and archives)
  • Support project audits as required

Key Qualifications / Experience / Skills / Behaviours

Professional knowledge

  • Project Management qualification at APM Foundation level or equivalent or qualified by experience with evidence of continued professional development (CPD)
  • Working knowledge of project management tools and methodologies, effective use of project control tools to support project delivery
  • Knowledge and experience of the international development business would be desirable
  • Two (2) or more years previous experience of successfully delivering low complexity/risk projects, across part or the full lifecycle
  • Experience of planning, estimating and delivering projects to scope, time and quality, including client/stakeholder satisfaction and consideration of risk
  • Demonstrated management and administrative skills with direct experience on systems, process and tools development 

       Technical Skills

  • Sound project management skills and able to drive and support projects to completion
  • High levels of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written skills including ability to summarize complex documents
  • MS office proficiency (experience with MS Dynamics advantageous)
