Overview

The Health Practice at Oxford Policy Management is currently seeking two Assistant Consultants on a 12 month fixed-term basis.  The positions will be located in our Islamabad, Pakistan office.

Position Summary

The Assistant Consultant will play a key supportive role within the Health Practice at OPM Islamabad, focusing on the implementation of projects, preparation of project materials, and facilitation of team efforts in line with OPM's standards of excellence. The successful candidates will demonstrate a strong ability to support existing operations and contribute to the strategic development of the Health Practice in alignment with OPM’s goals for socio-economic betterment in Pakistan. 

 

As an Assistant Consultant within the Health Practice at OPM you will:

 

  •  Provide supportive technical assistance for projects, adhering to the high-quality standards of OPM and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of detailed project reports and documents that meet client specifications and OPM's guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members across practices to facilitate the smooth execution of health projects.
  • Perform research and undertake administrative tasks to aid in the expansion and strategic direction of the Health Practice.
  • Ensure strict adherence to OPM’s internal policies, procedures, and financial management standards.
  • Support the organisation of workshops and events that contribute to project activities.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain and enhance expertise within the health sector.
  • Execute additional duties as directed by the Health Practice leader and senior management at OPM.

Key Qualifications / Experience / Skills / Behaviours

  • A Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Social Science, Development Studies, International Development, or a related field from a recognised international university.
  • 2 to 3 years’ relevant professional experience.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Fluency in Urdu and English is required.
  • A strong interest in health-related issues is crucial.
  • A detail-oriented approach is essential

Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience

  •  Relevant experience in the health sector is beneficial.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet concurrent deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
