Overview

The Finance Department at Oxford Policy Management is currently seeking a Group Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. 

 

Based in our Oxford office, with flexible hybrid or remote working options within the UK. Occasional office visits required by agreement.

Position Summary

The Finance Department at OPM is responsible for the management of the company's Commercial Finance, Financial Accounting and Project Finance activities. 

 

The Group Financial Accountant is primarily responsible for managing consolidation and UK entity accounting, supporting and reviewing accounting within global offices and ensuring that OPM’s ledgers accurately reflect the company’s financial activity, in line with the appropriate accounting standards.  Strengthening implementation of standard reporting and control frameworks across our global offices, the role significantly contributes towards robust and streamlined group accounting for the business.

 

As a Group Financial Accountant at OPM you will:

 

  • Ensure that all ledgers and accounting activities are completed accurately, to the relevant standards and in a timely manner.
  • Review the ledgers of global offices and ensure that these are promptly updated and accurate.
  • Ensure all balance sheets are reconciled.
  • Ensure robust cashflow management and forecasting.
  • Maintain UK banking, including exchange exposures.
  • Manage tax issues and queries as well as UK VAT returns.
  • Manage Intercompany process and issues.
  • Lead group audit process and support local office audits.
  • Provide day to day line management of the A/P and A/R team.

Key Qualifications / Experience / Skills / Behaviours

  • Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with significant post qualification experience.
  • Proven corporate accounting experience.
  • Experience of managing the consolidation process.
  • Experience in an international environment operating with multiple currencies.
  • Experience of people management and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven experience and skill in building productive relationships internally, particularly across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience of supporting global offices with the ability to understand their needs and to guide and advise accordingly.
  • Excellent numeracy and IT skills (especially Excel) and very good attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to use own initiative productively.
  • Ability to handle a complex workload, whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy.  
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience of MS Dynamics is advantageous.
